Speaker 1:

Hey friends, hope you're having a great week. Thanks for joining me once again. Today. The word of the day comes to us from Habakkuk, chapter two, verse two. Here's what it says. Then the Lord answered me and said write the vision and make it plain on tablets that he may run who reads it.

Speaker 1:

The prophet Habakkuk was seeking answers from God about the challenges, the injustices facing his people and, in response, god instructed him to write down the vision that he, god, was about to reveal. Write it clearly, write it plainly so that it could be easily understood and acted upon. This verse emphasizes the importance of clarity and communication when carrying out God's purpose. When God gives you a vision, clarity is essential. Writing it down makes it tangible, it makes it actionable and much easier to follow. This principle doesn't just apply to. This principle is 100% tied to the science of habit formation.

Speaker 1:

Clearly defined goals, whether for developing a new habit or breaking an old one, serve as a roadmap, a blueprint, if you will, for success. Goals that are defined clearly, we refer to them as smart goals. Goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timely. These types of goals guide you toward consistent progress. I mean, after all, it is these small, consistent steps that allow you to achieve your larger vision, goal or purpose. In the science of habit formation, cues are triggers that initiate a specific behavior. Clearly written vision serves as a visible cue, reminding and directing both you and others to take action toward the intended outcome. So, for example, placing your workout clothes by your bed signals exercise leading to the achievement of your vision of a healthier, more active lifestyle. Keeping a water bottle on your desk may prompt you to stay hydrated throughout the day, supporting your overall vision of maintaining good health. In a light manner, a sticky note on your computer may serve to remind you to take a break, aligning with your vision of maintaining balance, reducing stress and increasing your productivity.

Speaker 1:

So, friends, I encourage you today, take some time to reflect on the habits you want to build, the goals or vision that you want to achieve. Write them down, commit to that first small step toward achieving that big vision. A clear vision fosters purposeful action and sustained progress. If this word of the day has inspired or encouraged you, don't keep it to yourself. Share it with friends, family, loved ones who might need to hear this message.
